Weiruo Zhang
Assistant Professor
Weiruo earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. For her doctoral study, she worked with Dr. David Dill in Computer Science of Stanford University, developing graph based machine learning (ML) algorithms for metabolomics data. Weiruo later worked with Dr. Sylvia Plevritis in Stanford School of medicine, with research focus of implementing ML/AI approaches to integrate multi-modality data to study tumor progression. Outside the lab, she enjoys piano, reading, oil painting, and watching soccer.

Harshini Magesh
Undergraduate student
Harshini is a senior majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Machine Intelligence and a minor in Mathematics at Purdue University. Her research interests center on leveraging machine learning and computational modeling to advance data-driven discovery in biology and medicine. Outside of research, Harshini enjoys singing, music production and exploring the creative applications of technology.

Kyenret Yakubu Ayuba
PhD student
Kyenret is a PhD student in the PULSe program. She earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University. Her research includes developing machine learning and molecular simulation pipelines for protein interactions and drug discovery, as well as computational and statistical approaches to investigate gene-environment interactions in admixed populations. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching movies and documentaries.

Harsha Srirangam
Undergraduate student
Harsha is a second-year undergraduate student studying Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. His previous work spans natural language processing, computer vision, computational biology, and cancer metabolomics, and he is more broadly interested in developing biological foundation models with multi-omic data. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching and reading sci-fi, and making origami.

Md. Ishrak Ahsan
PhD student
Ishrak is a PhD student in Computer Science. He received his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He is interested in developing computational and machine learning methods for analyzing single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data and exploring their applications in health and disease. Beyond research, he enjoys watching movies, TV series, and exploring new places.

Rashmi Bhaskara
PhD student
Rashimi is a PhD student in Medical Physics, co-supervised by Dr. Oluwaseyi Oderinde and Dr. Zhang. Rashimi completed her MS from Computer Science at Purdue. Her work is broadly focused on using AI and medical imaging to better understand the tumor microenvironment and cancer treatment response.
